Most file-sharing technologies were designed for use over a LAN. They run much slower over a WAN (such as the Internet). WANJet overcomes those limitations, helping with file transfers and data replication between data centers and branch offices.
WANJet is available on two different platforms:
WANJet 500 Series
The WANJet 500 is a 2U rack-mount appliance designed for a medium-to-large branch office with up to or over 500 users. It can also be used in some cases as a corporate device or a data center appliance. Applications for these users are typically MS Office (CIFS, MAPI, Lotus Notes), require local print services, Web access (HTTP/HTTPS), and in some cases scheduled and unscheduled data backups with the corporate location. When positioned as a data center device, then the typical application is scheduled storage replication services.
The WANJet 300 is a 1U rack-mount appliance designed for small branch offices with 25 to 250 users. Applications for these users are typically MS Office (CIFS, MAPI, Lotus Notes), require local print services, Web access (HTTP/HTTPS), and in some cases scheduled and unscheduled data backups with the corporate location.
